Hi guides! Just want to say a very good job for this afternoon's CCA walkabout! Because of everyone's effort, we have a total of.... (drumrolls) 150 signups!:D with around 38 girls in each of the 8 sec 1 classes, you can kind of do the math and realise how great a number this is!
Fire com, thank you for dedicating the whole afternoon to doing the fire and tirelessly making delicious marshmellows for everyone! We really appreciate how you found joy in doing so, and had such an optimistic attitude! Keep it up!
To the rest of you, we saw some of you being so enthusiastic and convincing when trying to persuade the sec ones to sign up. The best part of this was that you all were honest and genuine in your intentions and what you told the sec 1s, and we hope that you will always remember that in no matter what you do, honesty and sincerity comes before any reward or desired outcome.
Also, to end off the day, we decided to treat all the cca leaders by inviting them to get some marshmellows before they leave. This fits perfectly with a quote I saw on our board in the guides room: the most beautiful thing is not receiving but giving. And that's what we do as guides don't we? We always strive to give more and receive less:)
However, having said that, there are some aspects we hope you will improve and learn from, for example many of you told us at the last minute about having to change your shift allocation because you have something on. While we understand that we are all busy, it's also important to be responsible and considerate, and to make the effort to notify the leaders earlier, just as they make the effort to help you change shifts such that you can go home in time.
Also, while many of you helped to pack up our booth, it was the small things such as picking up litter from the ground right in front of us which we did not do. In the end, it was girl's brigade that voluntarily stayed back to pick up after everyone else. In future, let's be the ones to take the initiative and set an example for all other ccas to follow! Imagine how much in awe the others will be when they see all of us guides helping to do so?
Well, that's just some things we hope we can all learn from! Overall, today was a great day! Hope you are all enjoying school, and see you all on Thursday!
