Thinking Day Competitions

Hi Guides:D Thinking Day is coming up, so HQ has organised several competitions that we can take part in. The 5 competitions are listed below. We need at least 1 entry from each coy for every competition, so please volunteer to take part in them!

Competitions:

• Scrapbooking (Tze Yi)
• Painting/printing on reusable items (Mei Lin)
• Digital photography (Kimberly)
• Wearable fashion (Renee)
• Percussion (Jing Wen)

If you're interested in taking part in any of these, please inform the respective I/Cs (in the brackets) by 26th Dec, 11pm. Ask your PLs for our numbers. Sec 2s 2012 especially are highly encouraged to volunteer. Sec 4s aren't advised to participate, but if you really want to you can go ahead and volunteer:) If you have any questions about any of the competitions, feel free to ask any one of us about them.

Firelighting Practice/Cookie Sales info

Hey people:) There's a couple of things to settle, so listen up!

Firstly, there will be a firelighting practice session this Friday, 11/11/11 from 3:45-6:30pm. Please meet in the amphi at 3:45. It is open to all guides, so sec 1s, if you want to try out firelighting feel free to come:)

Please note that it is COMPULSORY for all sec 3s who haven't passed fire to come. Inform Renee if you aren't able to make it (for valid reasons). Sec 2s who wish to pass fire are highly encouraged to come as well:)

Please bring your own DRY punk and kindling. Bring extra as you may have to firelight more than once.

Secondly, those involved in the cookie sales, please take note that the date for the briefing has been changed. The new date is as follows:

New date: Sat 19 November 2011

Cycling Details!

Hi guides! Here’s the packing list/attire/safety rules for our cycling activity this Friday.

Attire

All guides are to wear your PE shirt and school shorts or dark blue/black fbts.

Safety/Conduct Rules

· Do not cycle off-track. Always stay with the company.

· Patrols are reminded to look out for one another. PLs especially are reminded to keep an eye on their members.

· If you do get lost, call your PL immediately. Meanwhile, stay put and wait for us to find you.

· Be mindful of where you cycle and try not to bump into(or knock over) anyone else.

· Cycle at a pace that you’re comfortable with. Don’t force yourself to go too fast.

· Keep in mind that you will be representing the school in a public place, so don’t do anything to embarrass yourself or the school.

By the way, those taking part in the cookie sales, please remember to hand your forms in to me (Kimberly) by this Thursday! Or else I’ll personally come after you with an axe.
